A Boudoir Experience That Is More Than Just “Sexy Photos”

I hope that you are ready to feel all of the emotions, because we are about to get REAL with RAW EMOTION.

As fine art enthusiasts and body image specialists, our team at The Vixen Society is here to help you be kinder yourself. We are here to help make you see yourself differently. And it has nothing to with creating a “new version” of yourself. In fact, it has everything to do with letting go and letting that soul of yours shine. A recent photoshoot at our Dallas boudoir studio reminded us of how special that moment can be…for both our clients and us.

Ms. J has been a return client for the past few years. She has fully embraced our process, our energy, and our artistic vision. But this shoot was particularly emotional for the both of us, because it was intended to showcase exactly how she wanted to feel when she looked at the finished product. We began our morning talking about the heaviness that she carries and how she wants to transform that heaviness into strength and peace. I knew that this strength was already inside of her. I just had to show her the beautiful and strong woman that I saw standing in front of me.

In life we often get swept into our roles as wives, girlfriends, mothers, caretakers…etc. It is easy to lose yourself in the process of loving someone, or something that you are passionate about. It is easy to forget how important self-care is when you are caring for everyone else. It is easy to feel suffocated with the ideas of what society, our partners, our families, and our colleagues expect us to be. And all of these things make it so incredibly easy to forget that vibrant woman inside of us that is begging to break free. So that is exactly what we did during our photo session together.

We broke free from that stereotypical box and revisited that absolutely radiant woman that was inside of Ms. J all along. Starting with a stripped down black backdrop, we styled her in a leather jacket and put on music that made her feel like she could conquer the day. I instructed poses that made her feel unapologetically badass and you could truly see it in her eyes. From there we moved on to a blank white wall and I pulled out some sheer white fabric. This was the moment that my artistic vision needed to be trusted and Ms. J could not have been a more perfect muse. She listened to instruction as I had her dance with the fabric and let it flow around me and my lens. I wanted that free and flirty side of her to emerge, so that when she revisited her images months down the road she could remember her light and laughter in that moment. It was blissful, serene, and full of magic.

We finished the session with a very feminine touch, to show that there can still be softness in strength. From a loose white top to a knit dress, we experimented with how fabric moved on her body and how she naturally wanted to flow. I wanted to capture her essence, exactly how it was. And every time I look at the final images I can’t help but get emotional seeing it. This is why we do more than just take “sexy photos”. We want to provide you with tangible proof that you truly are living art.
